One Eagle Place formed part of the £100 million St James’s Gateway redevelopment. The scheme, designed by the renowned Eric Parry and Partners, was the first to be delivered as part of an impressive £500 million investment programme in St James’s office, retail and residential development totalling some 9,300 m2 (100,000 ft2).
Propak’s proactive approach and the quality that we were able to bring to the project at a late stage was recognised and as such has helped us develop long term relationships with both the contractors and The Crown Estate over the past 3 years on projects.
Since this project, our work has spanned The Crown Estates portfolio across Regent Street and Piccadilly and has seen us work in partnership on projects in the area totalling in excess of £2.5m and include W4, W5, Quadrant 4, Quadrant 2 and 1-3 Regent Street known as British Colombia House.
Head of Development Alastair Smart commented: “It’s a huge testament to the hard work of our team to receive such national recognition in the form of this award. Our success now sets a benchmark for our on-going investment and development plan across St James’s.”
In the judges praise for the building, it was commented that: “Externally the design is both brave and testing, whilst elegantly retaining the original facades. Internally the building delivers highly efficient but simple floor plates that maximise the aspects along Piccadilly”. There was also praise for the scheme’s “high environmental credentials” and “bold but beautifully delivered” public art.
We were delighted to be part of such a large redevelopment especially on the most prestigious buildings in London.
